HAM GUIDELINES

Place ham in a large roasting pan. Add a little water or soup stock or beer to pan to increase moisture and add flavor. Cover and bake at 350 degrees until the ham reaches an internal temperature of 140 degrees on a meat thermometer. Cooking beyond that temperature will result in dry texture and reduced flavor.

DO NOT CARVE THE HAM FOR AT LEAST 20-30 MINUTES.

Place the ham on a platter and allow it to rest. This will allow for the ham to retain most of its natural juices, increasing the tenderness and flavor of the ham. Glazes can be added during the last 30 minutes of cooking time. This will prevent the sugars in the glaze from burning.
