Place Prime Rib, fat side up, on a rack in shallow roasting pan. Do not add water or cover. In sert a meat thermometer into the center of the roast and cook to desired doneness. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Rare—140 degrees
Medium—150 degrees
Well Done—160 degrees
Prime Rib can be seasoned with rubs or marinades for more flavor.
DO NOT CARVE ROAST FOR 15-20 MINUTES.
This will allow the roast to retain more of its natural juices, increasing the tenderness and flavor. For small roasts, allow 25-30 minutes! pound, larger roasts allow 15-20 minutes/pound.
